The patented Carousel 12 Plus reaction station can simultaneously heat or cool, stir, and reflux multiple samples under an inert atmosphere. It serves as an efficient personal synthesis station for both parallel solution-phase chemistry and solid-supported reagent synthesis.
Heat, cool, stir, and reflux multiple samples
- Accepts up to 12 glass tubes with a reaction volume from 1 ml to 20 ml
- Powerful, even stirring, fits on to a Carousel stirring hotplate
- Rapid heating to 220 ˚C and cooling to -78 ˚C
- Quick to set-up and easy to use
- Easy viewing of tube contents during experiments
- Removable water-cooled reflux head
An effective personal synthesis station
- Perform reactions under an inert atmosphere
- Fluoropolymer coating for chemical resistance and easy cleaning
- PTFE caps feature a ‘quick-thread’ for fast attachment to glass tubes
- Removable reflux head enables all reaction tubes to be to be removed simultaneously for transfer to a stand or for rapid post synthesis cooling
Rapid, efficient heating with the Carousel 12 Plus Reaction Station
Mounted on the Carousel Stirring Hotplate, the Carousel 12 Plus can simultaneously heat up to 12 reactions from ambient to 180 ˚C (220 ˚C for short periods) with ±1 ˚C accuracy. Temperature is controlled via the hotplate’s integral digital system, or for greater precision, an optional Pt1000 temperature sensor.
The Pt1000 temperature sensor enables control by either block or solution temperature. It can be placed in the aluminum base or inserted through the Suba-Seal in the cap directly into the reaction solution.
Powerful, even stirring
The Carousel’s patented design delivers powerful, uniform stirring across all 12 reaction tubes. By positioning the tubes and stir bars equidistant from the hotplate’s central magnet, it ensures consistent stirring speed in every tube.
This simple design, combined with high-performance stir bars, delivers powerful magnetic stirring from 100 to 1400 rpm.
Efficient refluxing with the Carousel 12 Plus Reaction Station
The Carousel’s integral water-cooled reflux/inerting head efficiently cools all tubes, minimizing solvent evaporation and loss. Water circulation within the head creates a cooling zone in the upper part of each tube, where vapors condense and return to the reaction
Quick-release water couplings with integral shut-off valves make connecting the water supply easy while minimizing leaks.
