Heat-On Block System

Heat-on Block system – the safest, fastest and most efficient way to heat and stir round bottom flasks from 10 ml to 5 litres
A safer alternative to oil baths

Heat-On Block System

Heat-On Block System makes your chemistry safer, cleaner and faster

Replace messy oil baths and heating mantles while minimizing spills with Heat-On Block system. Heat-On accommodates vials, tubes and flasks ranging from 10 ml to 5 litres. It fits on all leading hotplate brands with a 145mm Ø top plate and offers an optional adapter plate for 135mm Ø top plates.

Benefits:

  • Unique well design eliminates cracking of flasks.
Heat-On blocks include two probe holes for added convenience and offer optional and detachable lifting handles. For enhanced safety, optional PTFE Safety Covers reduce the risk of users touching hot blocks.
  • Solid aluminium blocks provide even heating.
The lightweight design enables rapid heating, with a maximum temperature of up to 260˚C. Heat-On accommodates vials, tubes and flasks from 10 ml to 5 litres, including an option for Florentine (pear-shaped) flasks.
  • Choice of block finishes.
The fluoropolymer coating provides excellent chemical resistance, while the anodized finish offers a durable and cost-effective alternative.
  • Heat-On heats hotter, faster
Heat-up tests demonstrate that Heat-On can bring a 250 ml flask of water to boil under 11 minutes, faster than both traditional oil baths other heating blocks.

Safer alternative

The risk of oil fires, injury from hot oil spills, and the mess and cost associated with oil baths make them an outdated and unsafe option for modern laboratory practices.

Cleaner alternative

Heating mantles can be expensive, difficult to clean, and prone to damage from spills. They also often create hot spots, leading to uneven heating, making them less efficient and harder to maintain in laboratory settings.

Greener alternative

Scientist are increasingly opting for specially designed aluminium blocks on stirring hotplates to heat standard round-bottom flasks.
