Atlas HD Reaction Calorimeter

The Atlas HD Reaction Calorimeter can operate in either Heat Flow Calorimetry (HFC) or Power Compensation Calorimetry (PCC) mode. Designed for ease of use, it allows power and enthalpy graphs to be generated quickly and simply.

Combined with straightforward configuration of reaction temperatures, dosing quantities, and alarms, the system provides a safe, accurate, and highly valuable solution for reaction calorimetry.

 

Features of the Reaction Calorimeter

HFC and PCC measurements

The system offers two modes: Heat Flow Calorimetry (HFC) and Power Compensation Calorimetry (PCC). This allows you to choose the most suitable option for your process:

  • HFC is typically used for reactions where the heater might influence the chemistry, as the heater dip is not applied during the reaction, and is also preferred for large exotherms.
  • PCC is ideal when faster results are needed, since it requires no pre- or post-calibration. All critical reaction parameters can be monitored in real time using the Atlas HD system.

Powerful automation

The Atlas PC Reaction Calorimetry Software makes reaction calorimetry truly easy to operate. Parameters such as reaction temperature, dosing quantities, expected power levels (e.g., moderate endotherm, strong exotherm), and alarms with subsequent actions are all configured through an intuitive wizard.

During the experiment, everything is fully automated, including temperature stabilization, reagent addition, and, in HFC mode, pre- and/or post-run calibration. No user intervention is required throughout the process.

Flexible Reaction Calorimeter

The Atlas HD Reaction Calorimeter is set to become a popular addition to any laboratory. Simple to configure and operate, it makes reaction calorimetry easier than ever.

The system supports a wide range of vacuum-jacketed reactors from 100 mL to 2 L and offers both HFC and PCC modes for maximum flexibility. When not performing calorimetry experiments, it can also function seamlessly as an automated jacketed reactor.

Quick and easy data analysis

The software automatically handles calibration, compensates for the enthalpy of addition, and accounts for deviations from isothermal conditions. Post-experiment analysis is simple with the Atlas Reporting Software, which allows “single-click” plotting of power and enthalpy.
