Scalable Agitated Baffle Reactor (SABRe)

The Scalable Agitated Baffle Reactor (SABRe) by StoliChem is a continuous flow reactor which contains 10 continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTRs) in series to improve mass and heat transfer.

 

The SABRe combines the best of both worlds:

  • Flexibility of batch: it’s multipurpose and scalable, offering all the benefits of traditional batch engineering.
  • Performance of flow: SABRe’s heat and mass transfer efficiency rivals that of tubular and chip reactors.

 

Modular design for many applications

SABRe is designed as a drop-in replacement for jacketed batch reactors, offering seamless compatibility with major pumps, chillers, heaters, and overhead stirrers. This eliminates the need for new equipment when transitioning to continuous flow reactor manufacturing.

With just one pressure vessel, SABRe provides:

  • Several reactor volumes
  • Various impellers
  • Multiple inlet/outlet points
  • Various number of chambers
  • Different baffle geometry

The system is available in three standard sizes for lab, pilot, and production scales, providing a clear pathway for scale-up without compromising yield, purity, or energy efficiency.
