PurIon Mass Spectrometer for Flash and Prep Labs

The PurIon™ Mass Spectrometer provides highly affordable mass-directed fractionation for labs performing flash and prep purifications on Teledyne ISCO systems. The PurIon interfaces seamlessly with the CombiFlash® NextGen, CombiFlash® EZ Prep, and ACCQPrep® to instantly verify the identity of target compounds.

Furthermore, the innovative PeakTrak® software provides single point of control, three predetermined ionization settings, and the ability to customize ionization parameters to maximize signal strength.

Single Quadrupole Mass Analyzer

The PurIon is a compact, single-quadrupole mass analyzer with an atmospheric pressure interface, optimizing chromatography purification. Thus, it provides highly reliable molecular weight information for target compounds and their  adducts during purification or through direct-injection analysis before purification. This is achieved via proton attachment (M+H)+ in positive ion mode and proton removal (M-H)- in negative ion mode.

Versatile and Reliable

Co-eluting peaks isolate easily using mass selectivity based on mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of the target analyte. Moreover, with electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) capabilities, PurIon delivers rapid and reliable confirmation of compounds. Whether working with normal-phase or reverse-phase applications, PurIon delivers consistent results. Its extended mass range, from 10 Da to 2000 Da, allows the detection of both small and large molecules.

Available mass spectrometer models

“S” Model

The “S” Model has an operation range of 10 to 1,200 Da (m/z). For instance, the unit can be fitted with either an ESI or APCI ion source. These sources can be quickly exchanged in response to different application needs. Unlike the Base Model, the “S” Model automatically switches between positive and negative ionization modes throughout the run. Additionally, a fluid interface module is included with the PurIon Mass Spectrometer to remove miniscule sample from the purification flow stream and redirect this portion to the mass spectrometer for analysis.

“L” Model

The L Model has an operation range of 10 to 2,000 Da (m/z). The unit can be fitted with either an ESI or APCI ion source. These sources can be quickly exchanged in response to different application needs. Like the “S” Model, the “L” Model automatically switches between positive and negative ionization modes throughout the run. A fluid interface module is included with the PurIon Mass Spectrometer to remove miniscule sample from the purification flow stream and redirect this portion to the mass spectrometer for analysis.
