What is a laboratory peristaltic pump?
A laboratory peristaltic pump is an advanced positive displacement pump that controls fluid movement through controlled compression. Operating on the principle of peristalsis, similar to biological systems, the pump uses a flexible tube encased in a circular housing. A rotor with precision rollers compresses the peristaltic hose, creating a sealed section that moves fluid forward. As the rollers rotate, the hose’s natural elasticity generates a vacuum, drawing in more fluid. The combination of rotational speed and tube wall thickness maintains optimal pressure and ensures a steady, reliable flow.
